Luckily for me, a Craigslist seller recently listed one in great condition, with its box and original pamphlet. The #40 pan is white in colour, which will match my vintage Le Creuset saucepot. A new pan of this size is around $200 at places like Amazon
Inspired by my newly acquired piece, I roasted a duck in my new pan. I am sure I will get plenty of use out of this roaster with the holidays coming up!
Wow, girl, that duck looks awesome!!! And the pan too. You're inspiring me to roast a duck. Good fall/winter food.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful find! God knows how much Le Creuset goes for these days! This is probably at least 150$
ReplyDeleteThe duck tasted great and I think I'll try it again to refine it (Grandma's recipe, modified by Mom, and now me!). I'm really happy with the pan and can't wait to try a few more recipes with it.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness what a find this is! I was lucky to receive one of these in dijon colour from my staff this Christmas. In Canada the large size retails for $300 with the tax. I am sick that they paid that but absolutely love it. Your duck looks fantastic btw, I'm yet to christen my pan.
ReplyDelete@Steph, I'm also a fellow Canadian, and you're right, I went into the Williams Sonoma in town and saw my exact same pan for $289 before tax!
ReplyDeleteI hope you blog about your first use of the pan!
