Sesame Street Bookend

I've just got a quick post for today's thrift share as it's been one hectic weekend! I found this neat Sesame Street bookend that is actually a little shelf for a set of books.

Have I mentioned before that I love Big Bird? Such a sunny, happy fella.

This little birdie seems to pop up everywhere in Sesame Street books but I don't know if they ever refer to him by name.

I hope to be back later this week to show you this MCM chair that I picked up... I need to get your thoughts on it! I'm linking up this post with Flea Market Finds and Thrift Share Monday!

  4. That bookend went along with a set of Sesame Street books that could be purchased at a special price at grocery stores in the 70s. The first volume was free or very inexpensive, and the rest were released one at a time, I think weekly.

We had several "Volume Ones" of different book and record series, but we never got more than the free book.

And the little bird was named, wait for it....

    LITTLE BIRD! :)

  6. And Lakota, Hee Hee, I was never scared of Big Bird but I understand - It was The Count and Oscar who scared me. They always seemed so stern and grouchy!

  9. Aw, we had that at our house, I loved watching Sesame Street with my children. The songs were the best part of that show and it makes me smile that I still have them, tucked into my head and sometimes, something will trigger the memory. Remember the story of, Wanda the Witch and the letter W? One of my favorites.
